Hyde Blades Come in Many Shapes
by Hyde on Sep 16, 2016 3:55:00 PM
It’s great that you know about Hyde’s circular blades and straight knives, but you should also be aware that we make tools in a wide variety of shapes.
Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions has been manufacturing high quality blades and knives since 1875. If your business needs repeatable and dependable cutting solutions, then you need Hyde.
Of course, we do more than sell quality knives and blades. We deliver solutions and we do so on time, every time.
Sometimes, the solution is a circular blade. Sometimes, the solution is a straight blade. Other times, the solution is a different shape all together.
Circular Blades
Hyde has been making circular blades for more than a century. They are used in a variety of industries including food processing, packaging, and plastics. Circular blades can chop, cut-off, slab, slice, slit, split, and skive.
We can make circular blades as thin as .015” or as thick as .05”. As for their diameter, we can manufacture knives from 1.5” to 24”.
If you need something added to your circular blade, don’t worry. Hyde can add pinholes, bolt holes, slots, notches, tabs, or just about anything else your business needs.
Straight Blades
The straight blades Hyde makes today can be traced back to the shoe blades and other hand knives we made during our early years. In many ways, Hyde’s straight blades are a reflection of how we changed to meet the needs of modern society and its evolving industries.
Hyde can make blades as small as .5” or as large as 20” wide and 48” long. Our straight blades can be up to .5” thick.
Straight blades can be used on a long list of materials including rubber, hose, film, and wood. Our straight blades can do it all: chop, dice, portion, sheet, skin, slice, and trim.
Custom Blades
If you have a problem that doesn’t call for a circular or straight blade, we still have a solution for you. Hyde can make blades in just about any shape.
Hyde is one of the few companies that controls all aspects of blade making. We engineer and produce our blades, in-house. We’re able to manufacture blades through the processes of blanking, laser cutting, heat treating, grinding, and polishing.
If you can design it, then it’s very likely we can manufacture it and we can do so in just about any alloy of steel.
