The loop knife is one of the most unique tools in the vast pantheon of Hyde blades. It has a handle like any other knife but the blade, as the name suggests, is in the shape of a loop.
A farrier is quite familiar with a loop knife. They use them quite frequently.
Yeah, we don’t know what that means either.
The loop knife made by Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions is more for industry than the equine. Even so, we certainly won’t say “nay” if you want to use our loop knife on your horse.
What are our loop knives used for?
Hyde’s loop knives are generally used for removing flash waste and excess rubber and plastic from molded or extruded parts.
Basically, a worker will use the tool to clean up a piece of rubber or plastic that has been shaped. Think of a worker on an assembly line trimming surpluses off of bumpers or rubber tires.
Keeping with the horse theme, Hyde is a stallion when it comes to creating a comfortable and well-made loop knife.
To start, we grind, heat treat, and temper a piece of high carbon steel blank. We just don’t do all those things, we do them to the highest standards.
The handles to our loop knives have a durable polypropylene core. Then we give them a thermoplastic elastomer covering. This soft-grip covering absorbs the shocks and jolts that come from scraping rubber and plastic.
This means our loop knifes are easier on not only the user’s hands, but their wrists and arms too. A knife that’s easier to use means it can be used longer and with greater yield.
Now, here’s the best part about our loop knives. They are ambidextrous.
Okay, the knife in particular isn’t ambidextrous, but they can be used by both lefties and righties. So there’s no need to purchase two sets of knives for your staff.
Hyde has been making blades since 1875. We draw on this experience to make your loop knife. We pay attention to detail to create a loop knife that maintains long-term edge sharpness and can endure the harshest environments.
Like all Hyde blades, the loop knife is designed with your manufacturing applications in mind and to perform your toughest jobs.
