Pelletizing Industry Revolves Around Hyde’s Rotors
by Hyde on Oct 7, 2016 3:37:00 PM
As we all know Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions manufactures a huge selection of industrial blades and knives that are used in a wide variety of businesses.
For example, Hyde makes circular knives that are used in food processing, straight blades that are used in the paper industry, and hand knives that are used to construct homes.
There are a lot of industries that used knives and blades. Wherever you find industries that use knives and blades, you’ll also find Hyde IBS.
Now, some of the industries that use blades and knives can be a bit unusual, or at the very least they are an industry that doesn’t immediately come to mind when you think of the word “industry.”
For example, there’s an entire industry devoted to “converting.” That’s when a large quantity of a product is cut into a smaller quantity that can then be sold to consumers.
Examples would include cutting paper to fit in your printer or cutting large rolls of tape down to size.
There’s another industry that’s almost as “odd.” It’s the pelletizing industry.
Yes, that’s right. There’s an entire industry devoted to turning materials into pellets.
To turn materials into pellets, those working in the pelletizing industry use what is called a pelletizer. Inside most pelletizers are rotors.
Guess what?
Hyde IBS makes rotors. To be specific, Hyde makes top quality rotors. To be even more specific, Hyde’s PDK brand makes top quality rotors and they’ve been doing so for 85 years.
PDK makes all kinds of rotors: sold helical, wedge lock, and bolt-on. We are particularly proud of our wedge lock pelletizer rotors. They are used in the plastic industry.
These rotors are made from a variety of materials, such as stellite, carbide, and D2 steel.
As for size, solid rotors range from two to forty inches. While wedge lock rotors range from four to forty inches. Both types of rotors are available in diameters of six to twelve inches.
Whatever the size, material, or type, Hyde PDK rotors will perform a long time before needing reconditioning.
Hyde’s PDK brand manufactures rotors for most pelletizer machines including Accrapak, Automatik, Conair, Erema, Maag, Rieter, and Scheer.
Do you have rotors but need them reconditioned? No problem, Hyde is your solution.
We can recondition any rotor, including those made by other manufactures. We can do a basic sharpening or a full on repair of damaged edges.
