Reap the Fruits of Your Labor With Hyde Banana Knives
by Hyde on Oct 2, 2017 3:50:00 PM
Like all of our knives at Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions, our banana knives are some of the world’s finest blades! This is because they are not only made using premium high carbon steel and stainless steel, but they are also very sharp and made to stay that way.
Unlike the other knives you may own, our banana knives are also incredibly flexible. This unique quality gives them the ability to avoid leaves, branches, and other bunches of bananas. Its flexibility is also an important factor in giving you control, leading to more undamaged fruit. At the end of the day, a bigger yield of high quality fruit, means more dollar signs for you.
In the construction of our banana knife handles, we use both a special hardwood and a poly foam. Since the poly foam has the ability to float, you will save time and frustration in knowing that your knife will not sink to the bottom of your selection tank if it is dropped.
Our Hyde banana knives come in a variety of lengths, including:
- De-handing knives (knives for cutting bananas off the tree), 9-1/2″
- De-leafing, and pruning knives, 11-1/2″
- Floating selecting knives, 7-3/4”
- Selecting knives, 7-3/4″
It is important not to mistake a cane knife with a banana knife. They can be similar in size and shape to a banana knife, but cane knives come with a thinner blade. Another knife similar in appearance is a linoleum knife. They are sometimes called banana knives because they look very similar. The main difference is that they are usually shorter and much more stiff than a banana knife. This lack of flexibility make them the perfect tool to cut linoleum, wood paneling, sheet mica, and veneer, but not at all great for working with bananas.
Once you have chosen the perfect Hyde banana knife, you should know that we also create and distribute sheaths for your banana knives. These protective compartments are made out of high quality stitched leather and are reinforced with riveting. They even come with a belt loop so you can have easy access to your new blade.
Now, there may not be many banana trees in our part of the country, but we have been making knives since 1875 and we love expanding our knowledge and becoming experts on all types of blades. This way we can provide a specialized Hyde knife for anyone who may need one.
