Your Plastics Processing Made Better With Our Granulators and Pelletizers
by Hyde on Jan 28, 2020 4:38:00 PM
You probably wouldn’t be surprised to hear that plastics processing of all types is one of the largest manufacturing industries in the world today. You can’t walk through a store, home, or business without seeing plastic. Plastics fabrication plants are found in virtually all corners of the Earth. Every single day companies across the globe form plastic objects, and Hyde machine knives and industrial blades are here to make all of that possible.
If you are in the market for blades that can assist you in the compounding of virgin plastic through all types of plastic product processing through recycling of scrap material, you have come to the right place! You depend on machine knives that can make the cut, each and every time. And Hyde has been expertly delivering these types of blades to the plastics processing industry for many years.
No matter where you are in the plastics industry pipeline, we have you covered! No matter what you are in the market for, our blades are specifically designed to solve your current productivity problems!
Some of the more common plastics processing blades and knives we manufacture include:
- rotors for strand pelletizing
- knives for under-water pelletizing
- pelletizer bed knives and rotor knives
- miscellaneous wear parts
- blow molding knives
- granulator knives
- shredder knives
- … and just about any other knife found in your production facility
Here is what you need to know about two of our most commonly used knives in the plastics industry… Our pelletizer knives and granulator knives…
Pelletizer Rotors
Our Pelletizer Rotors and Knives are known for consistently offering solutions to plastics processors all throughout the industry.
Our Pelletizer Rotors and Knives provide application-driven processing solutions for some of the most strand pelletizers including:
- Automatik
- Bay Plastics Machinery
- Conair
- Cumberland
- Erema
- Maag
- Reduction Engineering
- Rieter
- Scheer
All of our pelletizers are interchangeable with solid-style rotors without any modification to the pelletizer. The range in size from 4” to 40” in cutting width. The rotor body and wedges can often be protected with tungsten carbide for superior wear protection over time.
Our pelletizers are composted of carbide, stellite, stainless steel or tool steel to offer top of the line durability and longer life. Our rotor and knife assemblies consistently deliver high levels of shape and pellet quality. The knives are sharpened as an assembly to precise and exacting tolerances for specific applications using the latest CNC technology.
PDK Wedge Lock Pelletizer Rotors are made with a unique rotor knife material and require reduced sharpening which often results in longer run times and overall reduced maintenance costs. These wedge lock rotors allow replacement of only damaged or worn individual rotor knives. It’s also important to note that the rotor body and wedge can be reconditioned after years of use to further extend the life of the assembly. As a plastics processor yourself, you can probably guess that these factory-based services add up to a much lower cost than full replacement.
Granulator Knives
Our Granulator Knives from D&S Manufacturing, a division of Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions (IBS), are machined to exacting tolerances for higher productivity and longer life under the most extreme conditions out there. This is important because the plastics processing industry can cause a great deal of wear and tear. Whether you are recycling plastic bottles, tires, trash cans, car parts or non-ferrous metals, these durable knives last long and deliver trouble-free performance.
Our Granulator Knives undergo a proprietary heat-treating process to ensure extended knife life and are ground as a set for tighter tolerances. They range in size up to 54” in cutting width and are in stock and ready to ship for most common sizes.
D&S manufactures precision granulator knives providing application-driven solutions for most granulators including:
- AEC
- Conair
- Cumberland
- Getecha
- Granutec
- Herbold
- Nelmor
- Pallmann
- Rapid
- Sterling
- Zerma
- …and many others.
These days, many companies around the country trust only our Granulator Knives in their machines.
Our D&S Granulator Knives are made in the USA and are backed by over 60 years of experience. They are also created with some of the industry’s most extensive and detailed knowledge of granulator machine operation in the marketplace today.
When you encounter performance issues or excessive downtime with your present machine knives, it might be time to contact us! All of our products are designed to address these issues to make your life easier. Our solutions are specifically created to improve productivity and reduced downtime, dropping your bottom line. Remember, when you’ve got to make the cut, Hyde blades give you cutting edge performance.
